Out West Art Show announces several additions to the annual show!

Returning to the Heritage Inn for its 50th year, with 120 artists, the show features something new, something blue and even something borrowed. New is the “Living Catalog”, on exhibit during Wednesday’s opening reception. A piece of work from each artist will be on display to give you an overview of the depth and breadth of the work available. The artist’s name and room number will be with the piece help you find more work by that individual.

So, what did we borrow, the Lewis and Clark Color Guard from the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center Foundation will be on hand as models for our other Quick Draw/Finish artists.

The party gets started Wednesday, March 15, with the Opening Reception, 5 PM to 7 PM, hosted by Roy and Diane Volk, owners of the Heritage Inn. Come tap you toes to tunes by the Lucky Valentines.

Thursday is dedicated to the Young Master’s Program with workshops for area schools conducted by our exhibiting artists. These are always popular, hands-on experiences for the young people in our community that will be our future. We have several generous sponsors that make this program possible as well as scholarships awarded each year to students headed to college in the arts area. Additional funds this year, will be generated by a raffle of an original piece by Robert Krogle.  Tickets are available throughout the show.

Friday features the Quick Draw where artists start with a blank canvas and create a unique piece of art in just one hour. Those pieces are sold at the end of the hour by the inimitable Bruce Brock. You may remember Bruce from the heyday of the Ad Club years. No one is more in tune with the artists and buyers than Bruce, get ready for some real excitement. The party keep rolling with Art, Cowboys and Cocktails at 7 PM. Gather around the French Quarter to see a paint off and sample whiskey from Willies Distillery and micro-brews from Jeremiah Johnson

Saturday is the wrap up day with the performance by Rob and Halladay Quist, a Quick Finish and lively auction. Remember all events are free and open to the public.
